Diamond engagement rings come in all sorts of shapes, sizes and colours. One of the more interesting and unique of these are oval diamond solitaire engagement rings. Choosing an oval diamond over a round one will make your ring stand out from the crowd.

The traditional length-to-width ratio for these diamonds is between 1.33 and 1.66, but other options do exist. Just remember that the higher the number the more elongated your diamond will appear.

Conversely, if you have smaller, shorter fingers you may want to consider a different ring design. But keep in mind this is the traditional view of how these diamonds should be worn.
